Prepare for the Bridegrooms Return

Mar 16, 2026    Kevin Crawford (Senior Pastor)

In this powerful message, we're confronted with an urgent call to spiritual readiness in what Scripture describes as a dark time. Drawing from Luke 12:35, we're reminded that our loins must be girded about and our lights must be burning. This isn't just poetic language—it's a practical instruction for spiritual warfare. The girding of our loins represents the renewal of our minds with God's truth, while our burning lights symbolize the Holy Spirit's presence actively working through us. The message emphasizes that the greatest battlefield we face is in our minds, and victory or defeat happens right there. We're challenged to examine whether we're truly mature believers or still spiritually stumbling around with bottles in our mouths. The parable of the ten virgins from Matthew 25 becomes particularly relevant here—five were wise and five were foolish, and the difference wasn't their commitment or their lamps, but whether they had oil in their vessels. This oil represents our personal, intimate relationship with God that cannot be borrowed or lived secondhand. We can't survive on someone else's devotionals, someone else's worship music, or someone else's spiritual experiences. The strategic oil reserve illustration powerfully demonstrates how salt caverns protect crude oil—just as we, as vessels sealed by the Holy Spirit, preserve the anointing within us. The call is clear: this is not a time to get sleepy or comfortable with the things of this world, but to be consumed with our Father's business, watching and ready for the bridegroom's return.
