Gather and Tarry: Preparing for the Harvest

Jan 11, 2026    Kevin Crawford (Senior Pastor)

This powerful message centers on the biblical concept of gathering and separation, drawing from Luke 17:37 where Jesus speaks about a coming division between those who are prepared and those who are not. We're reminded that before the ultimate separation at Christ's return, there's a spiritual gathering happening right now in our lives. The sermon weaves together multiple biblical accounts—from Daniel in the lion's den to Paul gathering sticks after his shipwreck—to illustrate a profound truth: our willingness to gather, whether it's gathering in prayer, gathering sticks for a fire, or gathering in community, positions us for miraculous breakthroughs. The widow of Zarephath was gathering sticks when Elijah arrived with a word that would save her life. Paul was gathering sticks when the snake bite led to revival on an entire island. These aren't coincidences—they're divine appointments that come to those who are actively engaged in the work of the Kingdom. We're challenged to ask ourselves: Are we eagles who gather where the body is, or are we sleeping through the harvest season? The call is clear—this is the time to gather together, to tarry in God's presence, and to work diligently in the harvest field before us.
