Father's Business

What does it mean to truly wake up and be about the Father's business? That question sits at the heart of this powerful message drawn from Acts 12, where the apostle Peter finds himself chained between two guards in a Roman prison, awaiting execution. The story is far more than a historical account of a miraculous escape. It is a mirror held up to our own spiritual condition. Like Peter, many of us find ourselves bound, not necessarily by physical chains, but by discouragement, depression, the weight of past failures, and the relentless pressure of an enemy who targets the weak and the wandering. The angel's instructions to Peter are striking in their precision: rise up, gird yourself, bind on your sandals, cast your garment about you, and follow. Each step is intentional. We cannot simply wait for freedom to arrive. We have to get up in faith, put on the garment of righteousness that belongs to us through Christ, and begin moving. The chains fall off in the process of rising. The iron gate opens on its own accord. What looks like an impossible situation becomes a testimony that leaves even the praying church astonished. This message calls us to stop dabbling in our faith, to stop letting the enemy strip us of our garments of righteousness and praise, and to walk boldly in the authority of the name that is above every name.
