Remembering God's Faithfulness in Battle

May 25, 2026    Kevin Crawford (Senior Pastor)

This powerful message centers on the concept of 'Jehovah Nissi' - the Lord our Banner - drawing us into the profound story of Israel's battle against Amalek in Exodus 17. We discover that our spiritual battles require more than individual strength; they demand community support and divine intervention. The imagery of Moses holding up the rod of God while Aaron and Hur supported his weary arms teaches us that victory comes when we lift each other up in prayer and stand together under God's banner. The sermon beautifully connects this ancient battle to modern faith, reminding us that the enemy often attacks when we're weakest - right after our greatest victories. Just as Joshua remembered Moses' example and commanded the sun to stand still during his own battle, we too must remember what God has done in our past to sustain us through present struggles. The message culminates with a powerful challenge: don't forget where God brought you from, don't forget how He delivered you, and don't grow weary in the battle. Like those Israeli pilots who stayed airborne during the Six-Day War, we're called to remain steadfast, knowing that our foundation is the Rock and our banner is the Lord Himself.
